Expanding into YouTube

Hi folks!

It’s been a while since my last post. Homeschooling the kids while still keeping on about half of my usual load of snow clearing clients this winter has kept me hopping to say the least! I’ve been planning another side project (because you can never have too many unfinished projects, right? 😉).

I’ve been spending months off and on thinking about ways to earn some money from home while being a stay-at-home-homeschooling-Dad, and blog and YouTube channel often rank highly on those lists. I’ve got the blog here, just need to work on the frequency a bit more. Or maybe a lot more? 🤷🏻‍♂️ And now I’m going to add a YouTube channel to the mix.

My channel will be called:

Learn iOS Shortcuts With Troy

And you can find it right here. It is the first in the “With Troy” family of YouTube channels that are brewing in my mind. I’ve got several types of videos that I want to post, but for subscriber engagement purposes it’s best not to have one channel with everything in it (basically the opposite of what I’m doing with this blog) but rather to have a niche to cover. This way people who are interested are more likely to subscribe and keep coming back for more. Since the first niche I want to cover is to teach people how to use and create iOS Shortcuts, I gave it the super-original name Learn iOS Shortcuts With Troy 😜.

I don’t have any videos uploaded yet, but I’m working on them now. I plan to have a regular upload schedule of two videos per week, one each on Tuesday and Friday to space them out evenly in the week. It is Thursday today, and I’m not yet ready to start uploading, but I should be able to get things going in time for a Tuesday January 26, 2021 start.

Wish me luck, and as all the YouTubers say, “don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe!” 🤣
